I was also able to get my doctor to prescribe the generic version of Synthroid, as well as some generic levothyroxine pills for $50/month. I did some research online and found that the cost of prescription levothyroxine is only $100. This makes no sense. The generic is probably just as expensive as the brand name medication but you still have to pay the price. If you have to pay more for the generic, it's important to be sure you are getting the same medication at the same time.

Nah, I was hoping the price was reasonable. I just tried a different generic levothyroxine and it's even cheaper. I'm not sure why, but I'm sure it's because I'm a woman and have a prescription for Synthroid, but even then, I never had to pay any more for the generic. I just had to get a prescription for the generic and it's been a good one so far.
